VOGUE FESTIVAL 2014

Dreamers Delight - Under The Sheets

Tonight I had a pleasure to visit Vogue festival in association with Harrods in Queen Elisabeth Hall at Southbank Centre ,London. Among many interviews with fashion icons such as Naomi Campbell one of the most successful model of all times who has appeared on more than 500 magazine covers and worked on advertising campaigns for all leading fashion houses. Another fashion icons like Karlie Kloss,Rosie Huntington-Whiteley mostly known for appearing in Burberry's autumn/winter campaign and Victoria Secret shows, Pixie Geldof a British model, singer and designer and Jordan Dunn who made her runway debut in 2007 and named Model of the Year by British Fashion Council. Not to forget fashion legends, editor of Italian Vogue, UN ambassador and fashion visionary Franca Sozzani, Valentiono :king of glamour who founded his fashion house in Rome in 1959 beloved for his couture.

There was a little something for everyone to choose and listen to variety of interviews. Lucinda Chambers, Alexandra Chung and Amanda Harlech -three women renowned throughout the fashion industry for their impeccable personal style shared their experiences and talked about ' What is great style?'.

Today I listened to Monolo Blahnik who in 40 years has become one of the world's most successful and influential designers, and one of the first ever to himself appear on the cover of Vogue, in 1974. He was first men to appear on the Vogue cover.

He has his own fashion mark by designing and actually making most WANTED heels by every stylish woman. Today I found out that he is very humorous man who says,''he cannot work in a team therefore he does many things himself''. Monolo really dedicated his life to bestow women with most beautiful shoes that have crazy twist or being pure classy must have that always stays in fashion. He talked about his career and how he first designed in Paris before Diana Vreeland encouraged him to focus on shoes.

Second guest during this evening's interview was Angela Missoni ,creative director of one of Italy's most famous fashion dynasties. From the age of 18 she was helping her mother with the womanswear collection' in 1997 her runway debut signified a rejuvenation of the brand. She is also passionate about interior design , and Missoni has hotels in Edinburgh and Kuwait. Angela is really down to earth woman who tries to focus on her family and kids as well as design trying to get the ends meet.

"My parents traveled and so they would take me with them. I was there at the first show at five years old. I met everybody, I was always there," she said. But that's not to say that she wanted to be a part of the label and its daily workings from the outset. "We grew up very free," she said.

We also had Tory Burch with her warm personality and much experience from many brands she worked at and learned many things that pushed her to launching her own brand after taking her of her three sons. She opened her first boutique in New York in 2004 Tory by TRB which consisted of 15 categories that included different aspects of life and specific lifestyle.  Right now her own brand had become one of the world's most successful lifestyle brands.
